The Club

Oatlands Golf Club is a prestigious 18-hole, par-70, private members club with a rich tradition and history in the northwestern suburbs adjacent to Parramatta. With approximately 1,200 members and an annual turnover of $6M, the Club offers premium golf facilities, clubhouse amenities, and a vibrant social environment.

In October 2023, the Club received a DA for a new Clubhouse, 127 Apartments and 13 Townhouses. Construction planning is underway, and the project is expected to commence in early 2026.

The Role

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational management across all departments of the Oatlands Golf Club, ensuring the delivery of exceptional member experiences, financial sustainability, and alignment with the Club’s strategic goals. The General Manager is accountable for driving growth, optimising resources, and ensuring the Club’s continued success.

As the most senior manager of the Club, the General Manager operates with a high degree of autonomy, making decisions on all operational and strategic matters within the framework approved by the Board. This includes resource allocation, departmental performance, and resolving conflicting priorities to achieve optimal outcomes.

The General Manager will report to the Board of Directors (9) through the President and act as the Company Secretary.

There is a team of seven direct reports: Financial Controller, Clubhouse Manager, Course Superintendent, Head Chef, Golf Operations Manager, Corporate Golf Manager, and Membership Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Club’s strategic plan in consultation with the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives.
  • Oversee the development of annual departmental operational plans and ensure their integration with the Club’s overall strategy.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to the Board, including performance metrics and strategic progress.

  3. Operational efficiency and departmental performance.
  4. Growth in membership and corporate partnerships.
  5. Compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

The salary package will be commensurate with the skills and capabilities displayed by the successful applicant.

NOTE: Project delivery experience will be considered favourably but is not essential.
