Goulburn Golf Club is seeking to appoint an employed PGA Golf Professional to provide service to their 420 Members and 20+ thousands of visitors who play the course each year. Goulburn is located 190km south from Sydney, and 95km to Canberra.

The Goulburn Pro-Shop operates 7 days per week with the busiest day being Saturday due to competition.

The Goulburn Golf Club possesses an 18-hole golf course as well as a 300m driving range, putting and chipping green with bunker.

The role

The successful applicant for this position must be a PGA Member, ideally with a Certified status under the PGA’s ACE Program alongside also preferably being Advanced in a relevant ACE stream (Small Business, Coaching, Game Development, Management) as an indicator of engagement in ongoing training and development. The applicant must be a good leader in addition to being well presented, honest and reliable, organised, self-motivated with a good work ethic and has a willingness to learn and display good communication skills.

Applicants must have (or are willing to) complete the PGA’s Workplace Training Program in order to indenture a MPP Associate employed at the facility and by extension, manage their associated requirements.

The position offered is as an employee as Golf Operations Manager with the following operations forming part of the responsibilities of the successful applicant:

• The collection of Green Fees, Cart Hire Fees, Food and Beverage revenue
• Administration of club competitions which will require experience in the use of Mi Club.
• Responsible for educating and enforcing the etiquette and rules of golf and so assist members to enjoy the game
• The collection of competition entry fees for both member events and district tournaments
• Maintain and manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of 20 golf carts
• Starting and coordinating competition fields 5 days per week
• Junior golf – Development and coordination of junior golf programs at the golf club and within the immediate region
• Provide tuition for club members, representative squads, and juniors.
• Manage the range and stock levels in relation to equipment, accessories & clothing supplies for club members and visitors
• Regularly play golf with club members and attend presentations, social activities etc (where possible)
• Assist in the promotion of the club and its facilities
• Assist and attend match and greens committee meetings offering support and guidance
• Liaise with local media to promote golf in the region and provide regular information for webpage
• Attend monthly board meetings presenting a report on golf activity

Position Remuneration/Entitlements:

The Golf Operations Manager role shall be employed reporting directly to the Club Manager. The role will include working Saturdays as well as some Sundays and public holidays.

Additional income can be derived from conducting lessons outside of work hours retaining 90% of all coaching revenue. Final package and other commission-based structures will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
