The Hills Golf Club is an exclusive golf club in Queenstown, New Zealand.
In late 2023, a partnership between the Hill family and Ric Kayne and Jim Rohrstaff, the owners and developers of Tara Iti and Te Arai was announced, the intention being to reposition The Hills and establish a highly sought-after golf and lifestyle community. This will involve the renovation of the golf course, the upgrade to existing facilities, and the addition of new facilities, including a state-of-the-art golf teaching centre.
The Hills is looking to appoint a Head Golf Professional who will play a direct support role to the Director of Golf in the daily management of the Golf Operations department at The Hills.
Besides being involved in the planning and execution of all Golf Operations functions, a specific element of the role is the supervision of Outside Operations, which includes meet and greet, golf car fleet, the driving range, golf development programs for women and children, and other associated activities.
This position requires a dynamic individual who has an outgoing personality and is passionate about people, standards, and service, as well as someone who can build strong relationships that promote the Club’s values.
While not defined at this stage, the opening of the new golf teaching centre and stand-alone golf shop is expected to require an expansion of the roles of the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional.
Qualifications and skills:
- A Professional Golfers Association or similar industry-related qualification.
- A minimum of five years’ experience at high-end, private members golf club, with proven experience in all areas of a golf operation and familiarity with private club member services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and relate to diverse audiences.
- Competency to learn new technology and operational systems.
Working Conditions:
- This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends for events and activities.
- The role requires on-site presence at the Club.
