Systems Administrator – MiClub Services (Melbourne)

We are looking for someone who has 2-3 years of office desktop/server admin and support experience and is ready to take the next step into systems administration.
This is a role working from our Melbourne (Moorabbin) office to help support our large east coast Australia client base as well as assisting local staff. You will be reporting to our Systems team in Perth. The office hours are flexible and MiClub allows work from home days.
The successful candidate will have:
- A passion for technology
- 2-3 years of office desktop/server admin and support
- Hands-on experience with desktop hardware and operating systems
- A broad understanding of various computing platforms and operating systems
- Excellent proven problem solving skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
While not required, experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- MySQL Server and basic SQL skills.
- *nix and Mac operating systems
- Cloud Infrastructure (Linode, Data Centre, etc)
- Java applications, build servers and software deployment
- Web facing sub systems (Apache, NGINX, WAF, SMTP, etc)
- TCP/IP networking and/or firewalls
- Python/PHP/HTML/JS coding
Your workday will include:
- Debian 12 server admin
- Windows / Mac desktop support and maintenance
- Desktop support for 50+ staff
- VoIP phone system admin
- Data Centre/Office network admin
- Admin of software development environments, including DB servers, web servers, build servers etc.
- Participating in a on-call roster
- Some out of hours work will be required

- Communication – You’ll need to collaborate with our systems, development, installation and support teams for the delivery of web based customer solutions and to support internal systems.
- Self-sufficient – Able to work independently and manage your time efficiently.
- Customer oriented – Work directly with MiClub staff and clients to provide timely support for internal and customer hosted systems.
- Proactive – Take control of your own desire to succeed. Enjoy problem solving, upskilling and researching the best methods in systems administration.
