Regarded by many as one of the greatest links courses in the southern hemisphere, Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club is a world-renowned layout on New Zealand’s Kapiti Coast.

The course was designed in 1949 by former Australian Open champion Alex Russell, the highly acclaimed course architect and one-time partner of Dr Alister MacKenzie.

Committed to excellence whilst maintaining our historical relevance, we have an exciting opportunity for a Superintendent to lead our Course Maintenance team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Implement effective maintenance and agronomic programs that promote high-quality playing conditions and overall course appearance.
• Monitor and adjust course maintenance practices as necessary to maintain ideal playing conditions.
• Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers, ensuring assigned tasks are completed efficiently and meet required standards.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining course quality.
• Collaborate with the General Manger, Golf Operations Manager and other department heads to plan and execute golf course maintenance and improvement projects.
• Implement strategies to enhance the sustainability and environmental practices of the golf course, commensurate with Alex Russell’s original design.
• Develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all staff members adhere to proper safety procedures.
• Manage the inventory of golf course maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials, and coordinate repairs and replacements as needed.
• Maintain accurate records, such as maintenance logs, chemical application records, equipment inventory, along with staff attendance and performance.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in golf course maintenance and turf management.
• Work effectively with the links supervisory committee
• Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development among staff members.
