We are looking for a Product Manager – Apparel and Soft Goods to join our Sales team located at our South Pacific Headquarters in Southeast Melbourne.

The Product Manager will manage the life cycle of all new Apparel and Soft Goods with particular focus on the new Callaway Apparel range. You will follow the Critical Path and Project Management Methodology to bring new products to market and manage throughout their Life Cycle ensuring all stakeholders involved experience a seamless experience.

ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaise with Senior Commercial Analyst, Marketing Manager and Director of Sales to determine and provide the necessary information for the Demand Planner to build the Forecast.
  • Manage, maintain and report on product manager Go to Market (GTM) tasks for all launches ensuring deadlines are achieved and all product launches meet the expectation from key stakeholders.
  • Pricing – prepare spreadsheet. Send through to Sales/Marketing/Finance teams to determine and confirm final pricing. Manage price changes according to market conditions and adjust as required post approvals and recommendations from Senior Management.
  • Liaise with Program managers, international Marketing and Product Creation teams in all markets during the design and planning stages for all global products.
  • Co-ordination of wider regional product needs (core products/SMU’s) with European Product Manager.
  • Liaise with and provide the Sales Managers information to help develop sales strategy for product in its various life cycle stages including category insights and price analysis.
  • Create and maintain the Product Landscape across Categories, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date and any changes are communicated to key stakeholders (Demand/Supply Planner plus all Senior Management Team) regularly.
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that messaging & training is effectively conveyed.
  • Provide updates and additions for (Creative Marketer) to complete and distribute price lists for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Special Made Unit – work with Director of Sales to identify opportunities with Opportunity Buy products and any specific needs for our market.
  • Complete and co-ordinate sell decks for sales team related to all Product launches.
  • Ensure all concept briefs and offering matrixes and completed and on time.
  • Samples – work with Sales/Marketing Managers to determine sample requirements.  Complete documentation and return to USA.
  • Master Data – Provide relevant change information to Inventory Team i.e. New pricing, price changes, description changes etc.
  • Update Customer Care (CC) and Inventory Teams on all new part numbers and PAR so that key accounts can be informed in timely manner.
  • Product knowledge – high level of working knowledge of all products & ability to communicate/train all internal staff.
  • Purchase Orders (PO) – coordinate with the Supply Chain & Operations on all non-forecast driven PO’s.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Significant experience in end-to-end project management on a global platform.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining business forecasting and marketing models.
  • Experience in managing the Australasian co-ordination of product rollouts and features using global processes.
  • A flair for interpreting and analysing product, market and customer trends and developing innovative, consumer accepted solutions.
  • Ability to complete market research to influence product positioning, sales strategy and marketing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
  • Strong research and quantitative analysis skills including report formulating, spread sheet development and manipulation of figures.
  • Excellent organisation skills and project management skills, able to collate regional requirements quickly and precisely, meeting milestones and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven diplomatic and influencing skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills – people and business.  Highly customer oriented.
  • A flexible, pro-active “can do” attitude.
