Job Description:

The Retail Assistant/Outside Services Attendant ensures front-of-house duties and outside components of golf operations are facilitated; this specifically relates to golf cart fleet management, Pro Shop, retail cleanliness, and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the outside staging area is always presented in a clean, organised, and professional manner.
  • Manage the highly valuable fleet of motorised carts. Deep clean, dry, and present this equipment to look brand new.
  • Ensure that motorised carts are properly maintained throughout the day, including regular periodic checks for rubbish and battery usage to ensure even utilisation and rotation.
  • Communicate with Golf Shop staff to ensure all hire equipment (hire sets and motorised carts) has been accounted for and rental agreement forms have been completed before being taken by members or guests.
  • Inspect carts and equipment to detect wear and damage to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper working order; communicate damage and concerns to the Manager on duty in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Pro Shop Attendant to maintain a consistent level of cart availability and to ensure guests are following the rules.
  • Assist guests with golf bags, loading and unloading them onto carts.
  • Remove any rubbish within the club surrounds and car park, ensuring all sand buckets and pull buggies are returned to their designated areas.
  • Enforce all club rules and dress regulations.

Additional Responsibilities (As Required):

  • Provide support and assistance inside the golf shop, including the operation of point-of-sale terminals, end-of-day procedures, and reconciliation of daily sales, green fees, and hiring equipment, including the printing of reports when required.
  • Provide information to callers regarding course details, fees, and tee time availability.
  • Monitor the golf course for slow play.
  • Maintaining all golf shop systems.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build positive relationships with members and guests.
  • Knowledge of golf operations and equipment is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and handling golf equipment.
